Safety Reporting Policy
Effective date: 1 June 2026
OneMusondosi takes user safety seriously. This policy explains how we handle safety reports, how reported information is used, and what protections are in place for all parties, including the person being reported.
1. What You Can Report
- SCAM: Someone tried to collect money outside the platform or ran a fake listing
- FRAUD: Identity fraud, fake landlord, or misrepresented property
- HARASSMENT: Threatening or abusive behaviour during or after a transaction
- PROPERTY DISPUTE: Landlord refused to honour an agreed arrangement
- OTHER: Any other safety concern related to OneMusondosi activity
2. How Reports Are Handled
- Submitted: You submit a report via Sondosi on WhatsApp or through the support channel. Your report is logged securely in our system.
- Reviewed: Our moderation team reviews the report within 3-5 business days. All reviews are confidential.
- Investigated: If the report warrants investigation, we may contact both parties privately for more information.
- Actioned: Depending on findings, we may issue a warning, add a strike, suspend, or permanently ban the account in question.
- Notified: You will be notified privately of the outcome. We will not share the full investigation with you, but we will confirm what action was taken.
3. Privacy Protections
Reports are handled in strict confidence. We will never:
- Publicly name an accused user before a review is complete
- Share the reporter's identity with the person being reported
- Publish phone numbers, names, or personal details of any party
Public safety communications, such as aggregate alerts, are always anonymised:
✅ Correct: "2 scam reports filed in Mbare this week. Stay cautious."
❌ Never: "John from +26377xxxxxx is a scammer."
4. False Reports
Submitting a knowingly false report is a serious violation of our Community Guidelines. False reports to harass, discredit, or damage another user will result in immediate account suspension of the reporter.
5. When to Contact Police
OneMusondosi safety reports are for platform-level issues. If you are in immediate danger, or if a crime has been committed, please contact:
- Zimbabwe Republic Police: 995 (emergency)
- ZRP non-emergency: Visit your nearest police station
- POTRAZ Cybercrime: For cyber-related offences
OneMusondosi will cooperate fully with law enforcement when presented with a valid court order or legal process.
6. Data from Reports
Safety report data is stored securely and retained for a minimum of 36 months after the report is closed, to support any future legal proceedings. Report data is never sold or shared with third parties except as required by law.
